Elected officials make decisions that affect you directly. They include decisions on healthcare, housing, schools, jobs, neighborhoods, courts, child welfare and income. By voting you can have a say not only in who is making these decisions but also on the decisions themselves.

If You are 18, Register to Vote by October 24, 2022 and You Can Vote in the 
November 8, 2022 California General Eletion

  • All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 8, 2022, General Election.

  • The last day to register to vote for the October 24, 2022, General Election is November 8, 2022.

  • Return your vote-by-mail ballot by mail with prepaid postage as long as it's postmarked on or before Election day, or in-person to a secure ballot drop box, to a voting location or your county elections office by 8:00 p.m. on November 8 2022.

  • In-person voting locations will offer voter registration, replacement ballots, accessible voting machines, and language assistance to those who need it.
